I thoroughly enjoyed this posted and had a few thoughts for you. You say that some organizations are only using the technical aspects of Lean to improve tools and systems, but without a culture manifesting a spirit of improvement, they are less successful. I full heartedly agree with this statement and your concept of the “They Assessment” being a great way to see and measure a company’s culture. Do you have any more tools to use when trying to get a feel for the culture in an organization?

The concept of maintaining a team atmosphere by using we instead of them is so important to keep moral up and to keep everyone functioning as a team. How can you improve if you have vendettas with a another functional team?
